The rink is cold, so layer up. Don't forget a warm hat, scarf and proper insulated gloves. Go for breathable stuff that keeps sweat at bay. Peel off or add layers as you warm up or cool down to stay comfy.
Helmets are available to use for free while you skate. For extra peace of mind you're welcome to bring your own from home - whatever helps you feel safest on the ice.
Our skate shop is conveniently located, and our expert staff are ready to assist you in finding the perfect size for your skates. We offer a wide range of sizes suitable for both children and adults.

I’ve been playing hockey here for close to 2 years and I think it’s very well run. Public skating good fun with your friends and all the staff are very kind and is always there to help you. The rink itself is starting to get a bit old now but the staff and managers are working on that.
I enjoyed going in there, the penguin and metal frames helped a lot in learning. Also, there are sections for kids, a small ice skating area for practicing and the large area with disco lights that is wide open for pros. Really cool! I recommend trying it out if you want to try ice skating.

No, public skating is walk-in, just arrive during a public session and pay at reception.

The Ice Arena is located on James Congdon Drive, across from Thebarton tram stop, just outside of Adelaide's CBD.
We also have underground public parking operated by Wilson Car Park.
